SSF is the organizational embodiment of a traditional stream of thought and practice in Islam negotiated and rediscovered in the premises of modern studendom. What is fundamental to our purpose and purview is a relay and rekindle of the sufi tradition in Islam that unremittingly embraces the values of pluralism and humanism at a universal scale. In this journey, our path is lit by the saintly wisdom of the likes of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, Farooq Sirhindi, and Aa’la Hazrat Ahmad Raza Khan Barelvi.

While faith remains the elementary source and guiding star of our activism, SSF’s interventions in the civil society foregrounds a rather unpopular idea of achieving public good through partnerships and constitutional consonance with the government. We espouse a healthy sense of realism where earthly material privileges are of diminished currency in comparison to the morals and values that may guide our students and society. As exponents of the traditional sufi pursuits of shared and collective living, we define our role in the society to be creative facilitators of secular, democratic, and plural values and order among students.
